Q + A

Where is Sanibel Island?

Sanibel is nestled in a strand of barrier islands that spans the Gulf shores of the west coast of Florida from Fort Myers to Boca Grande and is one of Florida's premier destinations.

What is the best way to get there?

The closest airport to Sanibel is in Fort Myers (RSW). From the airport, you can either use a transportation service like Uber or car rental provider on site at the airport to get to the island. The drive is approx. 30-45 minutes depending on traffic. Reminder: Starting May 7, 2025, you will need a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued ID, or another TSA-accepted form of identification (like a passport), to fly within the US.

Where are guests staying?

All official wedding events will be held at Sundial Beach Resort & Spa. We have a block of rooms reserved at Sundial for our guests with four different room types available at a special rate.

What are the room rates at Sundial per night?

Room Type #1: Garden View Studio sleeps 2 adults/2 kids $382, Room Type #2: Garden View 1 Bedroom sleeps 2 adults/2 kids $455, Room Type #3: Garden View 2 Bedroom sleeps 4 adults/2 kids $551, Room Type #4: Partial Gulf View Grande 2 Bedroom sleeps 6 adults/2 kids $599. Note: all rooms are subject to a daily resort fee and taxes per night. Full Gulf View rooms and 3 Bedroom units are also available but do not receive discounted rates.

Do all guests need to stay at Sundial?

No, you can choose to stay elsewhere in the vicinity including other hotel or vacation rentals on Sanibel, Captiva Island, or Fort Myers Beach. Check Vrbo or Airbnb for good off-season rates. However, please keep in mind options may be limited as the area is still recovering from Hurricane Ian.

Are children invited to the wedding?

The children of our immediate and extended family members are invited to the wedding. For our friends, we understand if you would like to bring your children to Sanibel for a summer vacation in addition to attending our wedding. If they join you in your travels, we kindly ask that you arrange childcare during the scheduled events, as needed.

When should guests plan to arrive?

Official wedding events will begin on Friday evening, June 13th. If you choose to arrive earlier, enjoy the island and feel free to reference our Things to Do page for activity ideas.

When should guests plan to depart?

We will not be having any official events on Sunday, June 15th. We understand you may be eager to return home to celebrate Father's Day with your families. Safe travels back, and thank you for joining us in our celebration.
